Handing over the charge for Wyssen USA Inc. – New CEO Jamie Yount

Starting in 2017 with the first RACS projects the local Wyssen USA team has worked with transportation departments and ski resorts to upgrade their tools for operational avalanche risk management.
Jamie will join the team in the role of CEO as of August 1st 2023.

We have a very good team in the USA and it is exciting to have a person with Jamies background and experience joining and supplementing Wyssen USA.

Jamie Yount is a meteorologist and longtime avalanche professional with 20+years of mitigation and forecasting experience. Originally from Bozeman Montana, Jamie earned a degree in meteorology from the University of Utah in 2002 and started his avalanche career as an avalanche technician for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. In 2017, he was hired as the avalanche program manager for the Colorado Department of Transportation and in 2019 was promoted to winter operations manager. At CDOT, Jamie managed a team that provided services to over 1200 employees, delivered high value projects, and provided critical weather information to a variety of stakeholders.

I am passionate about keeping people safe in avalanche terrain and see this new role at Wyssen Avalanche Control as the next evolution of that mission.

Also in his time off Jamie is exploring the mountains on skis or during rock climbing and with his family.

We wish Jamie a great start in his new role and are proud to have him on our team!
