Increased safety and efficiency – integration on the WAC.3® platform
The winter is slowly coming to an end and the ski resorts and municipalities are taking stock. Some new projects for software integration in WAC.3® look back on a successful implementation – two of them here in a detailed report.
Digitalization of the piste rescue service in Andermatt
For Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG, PRD work in the ski resort was fully digitized for the first time this winter using the WAC.3® platform.
The WAC.3® has proved to be the right software for mapping and documenting the professional activities and assessments of the ski patrol and rescue service. The Cockpit gives every authorized person live data from ongoing situation assessments and precision avalanche protection (GPS data) as well as the activities and events in day-to-day operations. This makes the snow operation and the briefings/debriefings extremely professional. The WAC.3® is also our log of any event tracking our activities at all times and allowing us to demonstrate that nothing was neglected, providing a backup to the information provided by shift supervisors and company management. After a season of intensive work with the WAC.3®, we can hardly imagine a professional rescue service without it.

Increased safety in Goms through integration of different systems
The Goms VS region can look back on a very snowy and intensive winter season 20/21:
- 136 IDA® detections of spontaneous avalanches
- 23 IDA® detections of controlled avalanches
- 7 GINA® detections of avalanches
- 40 detonations with the avalanche towers
Thanks to area avalanche detection and a fully integrated safety concept, Goms valley optimizes avalanche restriction by a multiple.
